Search for Social Economy Assets in BC

Welcome to the online database of the Mapping the Social Economy in BC project. Here you’ll find an inventory of assets illustrating the scope and potential of BC’s social economy. We hope you’ll find inspiration, resources and information to support new social economy initiatives.

Please note: this map is not comprehensive. Many people, organizations and initiatives not in the database are also doing great work. Instead we’re aiming to include one thousand points of light — who or what is leading the way from each of eight regions of BC, and in each of five categories:

1. Individuals
2. Organizations
3. Initiatives/Enterprises
4. Resources (financial, funding, in kind)
5. Information (networks, umbrella organizations, conferences, research, etc.)

Connect to these assets by selecting either one of the convenient Basic Search options or the more powerful Detailed Search, all found on the website navigation bar on the left of the screen.

If you don’t see an asset that you know is part of the BC Social Economy, or if you, your organization or resource is not listed and should be, please contact us and we’ll be able to direct you on how to join the map.
